Stainless Steel Resin Trap for Media Retention

Stainless steel resin traps retain media, such as resins, catalysts, or other materials, in a process stream. It's essentially a filter vessel that captures and holds the media, preventing it from escaping or contaminating the surrounding environment.

The trap is designed to withstand harsh process conditions, including high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive substances.

Resin traps are used downstream of ion exchange vessels as a means of capturing and minimizing the loss of ion exchange resins due to equipment failure.

How to do Media Retention Resin Traps Work

Stainless steel resin traps function by capturing any media that escapes from the filtration system. They are typically installed downstream of media-containing vessels. Here's how they work:
▪ Flow Path: Water or another fluid flows through the system, carrying with it any media that has inadvertently escaped from the primary filtration unit.
▪ Capture Mechanism: As the fluid passes through the resin trap, a screen or perforated plate within the trap captures the media particles.
▪ Retention: The captured media remains in the trap, while the cleaned fluid continues downstream, preventing potential damage to other equipment or contamination of the product.

Benefits of Stainless Steel Resin Traps

▪ Efficient Media Retention
Ensure the media is retained within the vessel, preventing losses and contamination.
▪ Corrosion Resistance and High-Temperature Resistance
Suitable for use with aggressive chemicals and harsh process conditions and in processes that involve extreme heat.
▪ Low Maintenance and Cost-Effective
Easy to clean and maintain, reducing downtime and increasing overall efficiency. It helps reduce costs associated with media replacement and process downtime.

We can custom-design various wedge wire filters for media treatment and retention, including Lateral Assemblies, Header Assemblies, Hub Assemblies, Flat Support Grids, Filter Nozzles, and Resin Traps.
